We often get disheartened when a great pioneering idea doesn’t go the way we had thought it might. We can look to the reasons that the idea didn’t pan out, blame others, lack of time, funding or knowhow or worse we can just forget about the idea and move on. Many great ideas have been relegated to the rubbish bin in this manner only to resurface in a spectacularly successful manner by somebody else. Sometimes the answer is to just keep going until you know the idea is dead and should rightfully be buried.
Our idea to reward our referrers, clients and friends of Scott Partners by giving them a 3D TV is one such idea that has not yet produced any results. With only 2 weeks to the end of September and the deal, things are not looking too promising. Many people we have sent the offer to have denied all knowledge of it. Many think they would go into a “Draw” to win a TV if they referred. Some have even offered to purchase a 3DTV from us from the ones left over.
What we were trying to achieve with the offer is to make it worth your while to take a little time out of your day, think about who might benefit from being a Scott Partners client, then make a phone call suggesting they have a talk to us about what we can offer. If the referred client comes on board with us, you are given a 3DTV no strings attached. We pay for the TV with the proceeds from the new client’s work. We set a minimum fee so that we can cover our staff costs in preparing the work. Our overhead contribution and “Profit” then go to buying the TV for you. Its what we call a Win/Win/Win proposition. You get a 3DTV, we get a new client who will be with us for years and years and the new client gets great service and advice to enhance their business. The final WIN proposition is that new client can refer their business friends to us and get their own 3DTV!
Scott Partners have some capacity to take on new work and we are always looking for new client referrals. If you know of anybody who runs a business, regardless of whether they are happy or not, we think that by taking 5 – 10 minutes out of your busy day, making a list and calling them it might just be the best paid 5 – 10 minutes you spend all year!
